I went into today hoping to play well and get deep again at the Venetian. We started out with 15000 in chips for the $560 buy in today. My starting table was awesome. Only 1 or 2 half way competent players and I was by far the youngest there.
Level 1: 50-100. I made it 250 from UTG +1 with J7ss and the BB called. The flop came AT9, he donked out 375, I made it 950 (I often raise weak donk leads here because they are usually weak here) and he called. The turn came another A and he donked out 2000 and I folded. Next hand I made it 250 from UTG with 43cc and the same guy called from the SB. The flop came KQ7 all hearts and he check called my 275 bet. The turn came the Ah and we checked and the river came the 3d. He lead out for 600 and I folded. I made it 250 with K9dd from MP, got 4 callers, and folded on a Q75 flop. The SB made it 250 into my BB and I called with JTo. The flop came 742 and I folded to his bet. The next hand, he made it 250 from the button and I called in the SB with AJo. We checked down to the river on K8533 and he showed A2 and my hand was good. An MP player made it 300 and I called from the button with KTdd. The flp came T83, he lead out for 600, and I called. The turn came a 7 and we both checked. The river came a 2, he lead for 600 again, I called and was good when he showed 44. A player (the guy who had raised from the SB and button previously) made it 300 previously and I 3-bet to 850 directly behind him with KQdd. The flop came J73, he lead for 300, I made it 1025 (raising the weak lead) and he called. The turn came the 4d giving me a backdoor flush draw and he donklead 1000 into my 2 raises and I just called this time. The river came another 4 missing my flush draw and he lead 1000 again but I had to fold my K high this time. I was down to 11k after this. I made it 250 with T6dd from MP and got 2 calls. The flop came A75 and I folded to a bet. I then was finally able to make a hand. I made it 250 from EP with AKo and the calling station button called. The flop came AK4, I lead for 325, and he folded aldkjfa;lsjfa;lskdfjasl. There was 1 limper and i made it 300 from the button with J7dd, the SB and the limper called. The flop came K85, the SB donked 1000, and I folded. We went to the next level with me being down to 11175.
Level 2: 75-150. I made it 350 in the hijack with 98o and the button and the BB called. We checked to the turn on AQ94 and on the turn, the button bet 500 after we checked to him. I called and the river came a 7. We both checked and my 9 was good. The guy UTG made it 400 and I called UTG +1 with 66. The player UTG +2 made it 2100 and I ended up folding. Next hand I found 66 again and made it 350 UTG and got 2 calls from MP. The flop came 732 2 spades and I bet out 400 and got 1 caller. The turn came an 8, I checked, he bet 1050, and I called. The river came the Js, completing a potential flush, I checked and he checked behind showing 99 for a better hand. I was down to 9675 and we went to the next level.
Level 3: 100-200. I made it 475 in MP with JTo, got 1 caller, and the cutoff made it 1675 and I folded. The player UTG made it 650, I finally found KK in the SB and made it 1700 and he folded. ldkfja;lskjf. I made it 475 in the hijack with 43ss, the cutoff called, and the button made it 1650 and I folded. An EP raiser made it 650 and I called in MP with 66. We checked to the turn on a board of A83J where he bet out 1100 and I folded (he showed an A). The UTG player made it 650 (same guy, same position) and I called in MP with KJhh. The flop came J93, he lead for 1375, and I called. The turn came an ugly A, he bet 4500, and I folded. He showed 99 so its lucky the turn came an A. We went to the 1st break with me having 6400, less than 1/2 my starting stack.
Level 4: 100-200 25. A guy in MP made it 400, I found A9cc in the cutoff and decided to call, and the button called as well. The flop came J63 2 diamonds and it checked around. The turn came 4d, putting 3 diamonds on board. We checked to the button and he bet out 1200. The raiser folded and to me it looked like he didnt have very much so I called with the thought of doing something on the river. The river came the Qd, putting a 4-flush on board. I bet out 2100 and the guy snap called showing 52 for the straight (no diamond. . .soul read). I was down to 2600 or so after this. I found 44 UTG +2 and shipped it in and everyone folded. The cutoff made it 700 and I found ATo in the SB and went all in again and he folded. I was up to 4k after this. There were 3 limps to me in the BB and I found J9ss and checked. The flop came AKQ and it checked around. The turn came an 8s giving me a flush draw with my gutshot draw, I lead out for 525, and everyone folded. I made it 475 with T7cc, the cutoff called, and the BB made it 2125 and I folded. I had 3950 and we went to the next level.
Level 5: 150-300 25. Shortly into the level, I shipped my final 3700 all in UTG with ATo and the SB called, showing 77. The board didnt give me any help and I busted for another early day.
Frustrating tournament, especially since my table was so easy. It just seemed like nothing happened the way it was supposed to this tournament, everything I tried went poorly and I never got anything going right from the start.
After this tournament, I played some sattys and eventually decided to latereg for the $120 nightly tournament at the Venetian. I would normally write about this in a seperate post but the tournament lasted 3 major hands for me so it hardly seems worth it.
Level 4: 100-200 25. I registered in this round. We started with 7500 in chips. My table was so incredibly bad words cant describe it. I opened to 475 UTG with 88, got 3 calls behind, and the button made it 2675 and I folded. There were 2 limps to me on the button, I found ATo and made it 750. The SB moved all in for 4050 and I called. He showed TT and I lost when I couldnt bink my A. I was down to 2275 and we went to the next level.
Level 5: 200-400 25. I folded a couple of hands with my short stack and was eventually the BB. A MP raiser made it 2000 and I called all in for my last 2000 or so in the BB with AT0. He showed QQ and I blanked and busted quickly.
Not too exciting of a tourney and a very bad day for poker for me. Nothing went right overall. Hopefully everything turns around tomorrow!
