Satellite List #5: June 2nd and 3rd 2011

Satellite #16: $240 buy in 2 $1100 winners (Venetian). $20 last longer as well. This ended up being a crappy satty. 5th hand or so of the tourney, I made it 125 in EP with QJhh, got 3 callers, and the flop came QJ3. I bet 275 and 1 of the callers in LP called. The turn came the 5d putting 2 diamonds on board, I bet 600, and he called again. The river came 9d, I bet 1000, he went all in for 1175 total, I called, and he showed 43dd for the flush. WP him. 2 hands later, I went all in into a bunch of limpers from my BB for 275 with A8ss, got called by AThh and lost on an AT5 flop. Short tourney GG money +$1110 overall.

Satellite #17: $130 buy in 2 $570 winners (Venetian). $20 last longer. I ran pretty well in this one. 3rd hand of the tourney, A player in EP made it 175, I found KK in MP and just flatted. The flop came 3 baby cards, he bet, I raised, he moved all in, I called, and he showed QQ and I faded a Q to get a nice stack early. I made it 125 in the hijack with KJo and got called by the button and the BB. The flop came J53 and the BB spazzed all in for 1000 and I called, he showed JT, and I held. Later, I the button made it 500 at 100-200, and I just called in the BB when I found AA. I bet 600 on the turn on a board of KQ5T after we checked the flop and he called. The river came a 7, I checked, he went all in for 1300, I called and won when he showed J7. I was up to 7k and we were eventually 4 handed at 200-400 with Levi, I, and 2 other guys. I missed opportunites to knock out the other guys with my QQ vs an A6 and my A7 vs AQ. We mostly played pass the chips around but one of the guys let himself blind down and out eventually. We played 3 handed for a little while at 400-800 (I did win a flip vs the guy with 86ss vs 44) but we ended up just passing chips back and forth so we ended up doing a 3 way even chop, netting me money and leaving me up $1435 for Venetian sattys.

Satellite #18: $125 buy in 1 $1100 winner (Rio). The venetian satellites were struggling to fill consistently so we went over to the Rio to play a few of their satellites. The fact that theyre winner take all makes them a different game (plus the fact that we start with considerably less chips than the Venetian. . .1000 at Rio vs 2000 at Venetian for $130s or 2500 for $240s.). There was a $20 LL in this tournament. Early on I raised some opening hands but had to fold to 3-bets. I was down to 600 or so at 25-50 when it folded to the SB, he limped, I found 55 in the BB and went all in and he called for his last 375 with K4. The board missed his K and I got back to a starting stack. I reshoved the loose raising donkey at the table a couple of times with no hand at 50-100 to get up to 1400 or so and the blinds went to a make or break 100-200 level (starting stack is 5 BBs at this point). The donkey who kept playing limp/raise and fold opened for 400 UTG +1 and I found A4ss in the SB and jammed into his raise. He called with AQ and the board ran out 753Q2 making me a straight and doubling me to 3000. We were 6 handed and and it folded to me in the SB and I put the lady in the BB all in with K4, she called for about 1500 with ATo and the board ran out 95493 giving me a pair to beat her A high and I was up to 5000 or so (about 1/2 the chips in play). The blinds went up to 150-300 when we were 5 handed. I knocked out a short stack in the BB when I pushed A9o UTG and he called for his last 500 or so with K5 and lost. I busted another shortie who was all in in his BB from my SB when I had 22 vs his 62. We were 3 handed and I raised the button with KQo putting the BB all in, he called with J6o and I held again. We got to heads up with me having about a 6000-4000 advantage. We decided to leave the LL money to 2nd place. We played 1 hand before the blinds went up to 200-400. 1st hand at 200-400, I found QQ on the button and made it 800 and he called. The flop came 866, he checkcalled my 800 bet. The turn came a T, he lead for 900, I put him all in and he folded leaving himself with only 1600 or so. Next hand he moved all in from the button and I found AQo and called. He had JTo and the board blanked out for both of us and I shipped the tourney. After splitting with Levi, I netted a decent amount leaving me a $350 total winner for sattys at the Rio.

Satellite #19: $125 buy in 1 $1100 winner (Rio). With the success from the last one, I thought I had to try one more. There was a $20 last longer in this one as well. I maintained my starting stack at an even amount for the first 30 minutes of the tournament. Last hand of the 25-50 level, I found AKhh UTG +1 and made it 125 and had an MP player go all in for 675. I called and he showed KK. The board blanked out and I was down to exactly 400. We went up to 50-100 and I was UTG and found QJo and went with it. A player in MP reshoved and showed ATo and the flop came A high busting me early in the tourney. Uneventful one really. Still $205 winner at Rio sattys.
