Satellite #23: $125 buy in 1 $1120 winner (Rio). +$20 LL. This table started out pretty boring. I basically folded every hand for the first 3 levels. I did manage to win 1 small pot where I limped multiway with 99 and won the pot with a bet on the turn on K433. At 100-200 we were 6 handed and I was down to 700 in chips. I was in the BB with a raise in from and found AJo and went all in. The raiser had AT and I faded his T doubling up. From there, I stole up to 2500 or so and then 5-handed I had a guy move in on the button for 1100 and I woke up with KK in the BB. He had K4dd and I faded a diamond draw to get up to 4000 or so. We were 4-handed at 150-300 and a guy moved all in for about 1300 from UTG. I found 22 in the SB and isoed. The all in had A6o and I was not able to win the flip, putting me down to about 3000. We eventually got to 3-handed at 200-400 and I still had around 3000. The other 2 guys just played a big pot and the BB only had about 2000 in my SB so I put him all in with 84o. He called with KTcc and I wasnt able to win and was crippled down to 800 in chips. I moved my 800 in on the button with KTo and got called by J6o in the BB and was able to hold here to get back to 1800. I folded my BB but found Q4o in the SB and pushed 1400 into the BB. He called with 86o and turned an 8 busting me in 3rd place.
Satellite #24: $125 buy in 1 $1120 winner (Rio) +$20 LL. In the 2nd level (50-100), a player in the cutoff made it 150 and I found AA on the button and just flatted. The flop came TT7 and I got it in with him, he showed JJ and I held to double up to 2000 or so. At 50-100, I jammed over an aggro kid with a lot of chips opens 2 times with KTcc and A8o and he folded both times. He then raised my button again and I found 88 and moved in for a 3rd time. This time he called, showing AK. The board ran out all unders to my 88 and I doubled to a massive 4500. I stayed right around this amount as people got picked off and soon it was me and the aggro kid heads up, my 4000 to his 6000 at 150-300. I offered him an even chop but he decided to decline so we played it out. Early on I got chopped down to 2500 when I raised the button with KQhh and he just called with KK, and I turned a flush draw and rivered a Q and lost. A couple of hands later I was able to double up to 5500 when I got QQ in vs his A9. From there, I made trips after minraising the button twice (didn’t get any action but the pot with the raise is nice to take down) to get to about 6500 and then I minraised the button with A8o, he shoved, I called, and he showed Q2o. The board made me 3 8s and I faded his flush draw to take down the tournament plus the $160 last longer. It was nice to win one like this.
Satellite #25: $125 buy in 1 $1120 winner (Rio). NO LL. In the 25-50 level, I was able to get a double in a funny hand where I limped the SB with KQo into the BB and we checked. We checked in the dark to the river on T95J7 (I turned a straight). I bet 125, he made it 300, I moved all in, and he called showing the 8 for a lower straight. I was up to 1800 or so after this. At 50-100, I opened 77 in EP to 250, a player in MP went all in for 800, and the SB went all in for about 800 as well. I called and MP showed AK while SB showed 88. I actually turned a 7 but the river came a 4th club giving the AK the nut flush when the board came out 4-flush. I was back to 1000. First hand of 100-200, a player shoved for 2000 UTG and I found AKo UTG +1 and put my last 1000 in. He showed 44 and I was able to make broadway and win despite him making a set. I got another shorter stack in with his AJ into my QQ and faded his A to get me up to 3500 or so. We passed some chips around 4-handed for a while and eventually when we got to 3-handed I was at 3000 at 150-300. I was down to 2500 and I found K2o in the SB and shoved into the BB. He called with 88 and I failed to hit a K and busted in 3rd.
With my 1 win (plus my 2 non-cashes) here, I am now up a total of $420 in Rio sattys.
