Cash Game: Excalibur March 30th 4:15 PM-5 PM

First off, let me just say that I am never playing at the Excalibur again. I like the casino enough but the poker room is the stupidest thing ever. They had the new Pokertek electronic tables (I knew this going in and I just wanted to try it out) but the whole concept of it is just terrible. I really really didn’t like it a lot and will not be using the tables there again because of it. That is partially why this session was so short (and partially because a combination of the tables and a stupid hand put me on angry tilt). Honestly, the players here were probably some of the worst I have ever seen. It was just so hard to sit and wait and look at the machine.

The session started out fine. I was at $190 or so and I was able to pick up AA in a 4 way limped pot from the BB. I made it $10 to go and got one caller from a guy who obviously only had like $20 back. The flop came K high and I decided to slowplay and check to him. He checked behind and the turn came an A. I checked again and he checked. The river came a 4 and I bet $15, he moved in for $22 total and I called and he showed me 44 for a SOOO obvious set over set when he has no chips.

I was up to $220 and then the hand that extreme tilted me occurred. There was one limper to me on the button and I made it $10 with T8hh. The SB called and so did the original limper. The flop came 822 and it checked to me. I bet out $25 and got called by the SB. The SB only had $36 total on the flop so he only had $11 behind after this. The limper folded and the turn came a J. The SB went all in for his last $11 and I called and he showed AJo. God that just pissed me off because everyone at the table is playing so tightly I just was so frustrated that he called there. I was down to $170 or so after this hand and tilt got the better of me.

I found A2dd on the button in a multiway limped pot and limped behind. The flop came JdJx7d and it checked to me and I bet $5. One of the blinds raised to $25 with only $30 behind after this. I know he has a J there and if I don’t hit on the turn I have to call the river but instead of just putting him all in there or folding, I just called. The turn blanked, he went all in, I called and he showed me a J and I missed the river. I mean, I guess even when I am on tilt the stupidity of my plays is limited to calling with the nut flush draw so I guess it could have been worse. Anyway, after donking and not hitting that hand, I was really on tilt so I decided to leave with $119, for a net of being down $81 on the 45 minute session. Losing session #5 in a row.
