Cash Game: Running Aces May 12th 2011

I arrived at about 1015 and was seated by about 1045 and played until around 345 for a 5 hour session. I didnt really play poorly today but I did turn in another losing session. This can mostly be contributed to a string of unlucky hands and some weak-passive play but overall, my play was fine.

My session started out positively with me winning a couple of nice, medium sized pots. The 2nd hand I played I opened ATo to $8 from MP and got called by the cutoff and the BB. The flop came Th6h2h giving me toptop but putting 3 hearts on the board. The BB lead out for $8 and I made it $22 to see where I was at. The cutoff folded and the BB called. The turn came an offsuit A and she checked and I checked behind for pot control. The river came the Kh, putting a 4 flush on board and we both checked and my AT was good enough to take it. I then found JJ on the button after everyone on the table had limped. I made it $16 and got 2 callers from late position. The flop came 982 and one of the callers bet out $16, I flatted and the turn came another 9. We both checked and the river came a 4, he checked and I bet $30 and he folded. I was up to $270 very early.

I then lost some smaller pots. I made it $8 with QJhh, got 2 callers, and check-folded the 843 flop. I limped behind a couple of limpers with AQhh and bet $6 on a 533 flop when it was checked to me. I shutdown after I was called in 2 places and folded to a river bet. I was in the BB and the button limped, SB called, and I found JJ and made it $10. The button was the only caller and we saw a 543 flop. I bet $14 and he called. The turn came a 2 putting a 4 card straight on board and I checked and he bet $14 and I called. The river came a 3 and I checked and he bet $24. I folded and he showed me AJo for the straight. I was down to $225 after this.

I made it $10 with AQo to 2 EP limps and one of the limpers was the only caller. The flop came 984 and he checked, I c-bet $14, and he called. We checked the J turn and the T came on the river giving me a straight. I bet $22 and he instacalled and showed the 7 for a lower straight and I was back up to $270. I made it $8 with 66 in EP and got a calls from LP and the BB. The flop came QQT and I c-bet $12 and they both called. The turn came a 6, giving me a miracle full house. The BB checked, I checked, and the LP caller bet out $22. The BB folded and I made it $80, praying he had a queen. However, he folded (showing a ten) fairly quickly and I took down the pot and was up to $310. I made it $8 with AQo and got 2 callers. We checked to the river on T846Q and I bet $16 on the river and they both folded.

I raised a UTG limper from MP to $8 with ATo and checked to the turn of 9882 where I bet $12. He called and we checked down a 4 river and his K9 was good. I raised to $8 with AJss and got called from the button. We checked down a board of KKQ9K and he bet $8 and I called and he mucked. I completed from the small blind with T4hh and 6 of us saw a flop of AA3 2 hearts. I checked my flush draw and it checked around to see the 7h complete my flush on the turn. I bet $10 and got called in 2 spots. The river came another 7 putting AA377 as the final board and I check folded to a bet of $24. The sick thing about this hand is that the other caller showed K8hh so if the board doesnt pair on the river I am losing much bigger pot.

I limped with T9cc behind several other limpers and saw a flop of Q82. It checked to me and I bet out $6 and got 2 callers. The turn came the J filling my gutshot straight and it checked to me again and I bet $22 and everyone folded. Ugh. I limped from LP when everyone else in front of me limped with 75ss. The SB made it $10 and everyone else on the table called so I called but I folded on a J97 flop. After this I was at $300. I then made it $10 in MP with 43cc and got calls from 2 people behind and both the blinds. The flop came 995 and it checked to me and I bet out $28 and one of the blinds checkraised to $88 and I folded. After this I was at $250.

A loose, weak player raised it in EP to $10 and I called on the button with QTo. He had been raising a lot and playing weak after the flop so I wanted to try to play a pot HU with him with position. The flop came 833 and he bet $16 and I called to try a float. However, this plan failed when he bet $38 on the 9 river and I just folded.

My next big hand, I found AKo after 3 EP limpers and made it $12. A guy in LP called as well as 2 of the limpers. The flop came K87 and it checked to me. I bet $28 and the LP caller moved in for $73 and I called. The turn/river came out 45 and when I showed, he mucked showing a king. After this hand I was at $325.

I opened J8cc to $8 and got callers on the button and the BB. The flop came A32 with 2 clubs making a flush draw for me. It checked to me, I bet $12, and the BB was the only caller. We checked the offsuit 4 turn and when the river came an offsuit 6, he moved all in for $42 and I folded. I raised the button to $10 with AQo and got called by a limper. We checked to the turn on 7667 and he bet $10 and I called. The river came a J and he bet $10 more and I paid his 99 off and I was back down to $250.

I then was able to win another big pot. There were 4 limpers to me in the BB and I found 99 and I just checked. The flop came 987 with 2 diamonds. I checked and one of the limpers in LP bet $10, I minraised to $20 to see where I was at (it is a scary scary flop to make a set on but there are a lot of draws as well) and both an EP limper and the LP bettor flatted. The turn came a beautiful 8d both completing a flush but giving me a full house. I lead out for $32, the EP player caller, and the LP player folded. The river came a blank and I put him in for about $45, he called showing JT for the flopped straight which was no good when I turned my full house. I was up to $370 after this but this is as high as I would go.

I was then the losing side of a big pot. I made it $8 UTG with 74cc and got called in 2 places. The BB then made it $16, I called and both of the other callers called. The flop came down 6c5c2s, flopping me an open ended straight flush draw. The BB lead out for $50 and he only had about $70 total. I know he has a huge hand here but this flop is just too big for me to fold. I called the $50, the turn came an offsuit 6 and he went all in for his last $20, I called and the river blanked with an offsuit 10. He showed AA and my 7 high was no good so I dropped to $280.

I was in the BB with 3 limpers and found 88 and I just checked. The flop came T97 and I lead out for $4 and 2 limpers called. The turn came a 7 and I check/folded to a bet of $14. Later, I found QQ in the SB when an EP raiser made it $6. I just flatted and we were heads up. The flop came 762 with 2 spades and it went check/check. The turn came a Q and I lead out for $10 and he folded. Bummer. I limped behind with K9hh and we saw a K85 flop. I bet out $4 and got 2 callers. The turn came a Q and I bet $8 and they both folded. I made it $8 from the cutoff with 44 and the SB called. We checked down a board of KT9KJ and he showed 97 which was good. I made it $8 with AJhh and got 3 callers. We checked to the turn on TT5T and I bet out $16 and got called by one person. The river came a Q and we checked it down and his 33 was good. I was in the BB with 7h4d and checked with several limpers. The flop came down A65 all hearts, giving me an open ended straight draw with a flush draw. I checked and was the only caller of a $8 bet. The turn came a 2c and I check called $6. The river came an offsuit 9 and I checked and was no good vs his A7. After this I was down to $240.

I made it $6 in the hijack with A7o and got called by everybody behind me. I tried a $10 c-bet on a Q66 flop and got called in 2 places so I shut it down.

I then played bigger pots in back to back hands that saw me on the losing end. A player UTG+1 made it $10 and I found QQ in the hijack and decided to just flat. The flop came out KT5 and he bet out $10 more and I called. We checked the turn of another T and when the river came an 8, he bet out $10 again and I called. He showed TT for quads and my queens were cracked. I am lucky I decided to not raise preflop or else I am losing a bigger pot than what I lost.

The very next hand, the same guy UTG made it $10 again and both UTG+1 and UTG+2 called. I was next and I found AKo and made it $38. All of these callers called for a big pot and the flop came QQ6. The UTG+2 bet out $14 and I just folded. UTG+1 and UTG+2 got it all in on the turn where +1 had KK and +2 had JJ so I guess I got away correctly, but still lost a good amount of money that pot. After these 2 hands I was down to $150.

I only played 2 more pots. The first UTG limped and so did the SB to my BB and I found AKdd and made it $10 and they all folded. The next I raised to EP limpers from the hijack with QTcc and they both called. The flop came KJ9 rainbow, flopping me the nuts. They checked to me and I bet out $18 and they both folded akldjfa;ldsjfa;lskfjadsjlf.

I ended the session soon thereafter with $155, down $45 for the day. Not a terrible day but still a losing day and it always sucks when I am not a winner.
